OOGLY

Oogly is a blended whole fruit smoothie catered to kids. It is produced to taste deliciously healthy and to embrace the natural imperfections in ugly fruits. The beverage supports the usage of ugly fruits in products and raises awareness of the mass disposal of ugly fruits in the market.

All design deliverables consist of imaginary content to showcase my skills, creativity, and design process. This project does not represent an actual client but rather a personal passion project designed for fun.

BRANDING

Oogly is a playful brand designed specifically for children. The brand consistently showcases characteristics of "ugly" fruits through vibrant colors, whimsical typography, and unorthodox composition layouts.

TYPOGRAPHY

The handwritten letterforms with varied line thicknesses perfectly complement the playful essence of the brand. These typefaces are arranged along curved paths to break away from rigid alignments.

COLOR

The vibrant color scheme represents a distinct fruity flavor. Each flavor has a playful name that was intentionally misspelled and mispronounced with exaggerated vowels to emphasize the fun concept of imperfection.

Every design aspect of the brand was driven by my desire to utilize the unique essence of ugly fruits. I challenged myself to go beyond the boundaries of standard packaging and offer a fresh perspective.

CONCEPT

Oogly emulates the natural and organic form of an ugly fruit. Every aspect of the brand transforms our perception of a standard product.

LOGO

The logo consist of an unorthodox typeface with varied stroke thickness that captures the essence of an ugly fruit and to add a visual bounce.

NAME

Oogly was derived from the word “ugly” to conceptually imply imperfect spelling and pronounciate. This adds a fun and playful twist to the brand.

BOTTLE

The bottle was conceptually designed with irregular curves. Every bottle was uniquely deformed to visually capture the shape of an ugly fruit.
